US congressmen from the Republican Party demanded that President Joe Biden withdraw a request for additional funding for assistance to Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday, August 12, by Warren Davidson, a member of the House of Representatives, on his account in X (former Twitter).

“Today, my colleagues and I sent a letter demanding that President Joe Biden withdraw the last aid package until Congress provides a comprehensive strategy and mission for participation in Ukraine,” the politician said in a statement.

Earlier, on August 10, Biden requested an additional $13 billion from the US Congress for military assistance for Ukraine. In total, the president requested $40 billion from the US Congress, including for international needs, border security and disaster relief.

To this, a member of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Marjorie Taylor-Green, said that more than 300 Americans die every day because of the border policy of American President Joe Biden, so it is simply unacceptable to continue sending money to Ukraine.

On August 9, the coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, said that the presidential administration would continue to provide assistance to Kiev contrary to public opinion.

A day earlier, on August 8, a member of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Marjorie Taylor Green, called on the government and the US president to stop spending budget funds on Ukraine. She noted that the Biden administration is running an accounting scam to send Kiev even more money.

Western countries have increased military and financial support for Kiev against the background of the Russian Federation’s special operation to protect Donbass, which has been held since February 24, 2022. The corresponding decision was made in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the region.

The attitude of the Republicans towards the request of Biden is understandable, owing to their party differences. However, will the congress accept the bid of the republicans or yield to Biden’s demand?
