Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) is a movie that many will call perfect, in terms of casting, story line and delivery. The movie encompasses the true traditional way of life of the ancient Yoruba Kingdom and the perfect action packed which makes it a true Netflix movies.

The beginning of Jagun Jagun explanation

The movie begins with the terror of Jigan (Odunlade Adekola) towards Oniketo (Muyiwa Ademola) who manipulated his way to power. In a bid to recover the stolen mandate of Jigan, he planned to execute Oniketo and take the crown that belongs to him. Unfortunately for him, Ogundiji sent Agemo to eliminate Jigan, gives victory to Oniketo whose life got spared. This marks the beginning of injustice in the movie.

What is the Movie Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) really about?

As a Yoruba adage will say “There is nothing new under the heavens”. From the context of this movie, in relation to the adage, Injustice has dated back and cheating is nothing new. The movie is about a group of Kings and Adele Oba who has wrongly acquired power through the help of Ogundiji. They used corruption to terrorize different kingdoms.

The wrong doings of these Kings birthed the death of Lagbayi and the destruction of Iwon which is the origin of Gbotija. Gbotija purposed in his heart to take revenge but after acquiring the necessary skills. He believed in the Yoruba adage that “Once a child is strong enough, he can then ask about what kills his father”. The determination led him to “Ogundiji’s School of warriors”.

The beautiful life of Gbotija is the fact that he do say that he has no power. However, he his loaded with a powerful ability to talk to nature, specifically trees and product of trees. This is what made him more powerful than almost everyone in the movie, because you cannot but see a tree or product of tree in all settings.

Gbotija is not only strong but also bold enough to confront iroyinogunkiitan (Bukunmi Oluwashina) and as they’ll say, the rest is history (You get nah: one thing led to another, they fell in love). We don’t call akara seller with all the mouth. The strength of their love and the tribulations of Gbotija was developed when he rescued the wife of Ogundiji/Erinfunto (fathia Balogun) and when he did what nobody has ever done aside Ogundiji.

As Yoruba adage will say “The Cockerel won’t allow the young one to crew”. Following the pattern of the adage, Ogundiji planned to eliminate Gbotija by having him face tribulations he can’t win as advised by Oba Alayaki (Adebayo Salami)”.

Gbotija had to wrestle with Gogunmi, the best Jagun Jagun (Warrior) after Odundiji and Agemo. Fortunately for him, he won, but lost his spiritual father (sorry, his warrior father LOL). Had to face Aje Kingdom in a proposed inhuman way and he won, stayed in Coffin for 7 days plus, threw inside water, he survived. Had to face Agemo, he was only saved, thanks to power to control the trees. Unfortunately, his victory couldn’t be celebrated cause he killed his lover.

Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) Mystery Explanation

The number one mystery is the fact that, Ogunjimi used his wife’s womb to acquire power. he didn’t stop there, but betrayed her to give birth to a male child. We at funembassy presents you with the mystery below.

We believe that Adele Oyenike is the mother of the only son of Ogundiji, of cause, it was not stated in the movie but it was obvious.

The second mystery is the appearance of the Ibrahim Chattah at the end of the movie. Many people, including me will be shocked if the movie doesn’t feature him. However, he showed up to give us the suspense, should in case Netflix planned to continue the movie. Of cause they will, in fact, they must.

The name of Ibrahim Chattah was withheld in the movie, but i personally came up with two guesses about him. It’s either, he is the Son of Ogundiji or a very close friend from childhood. He is a terror to watch out for.

Third mystery is the role of Amoye (Yinka Quadri) in Jagun jagun.

I see him as one to bring balance to the good and the bad side of the movie. He is to spill facts that will help whoever needs it (The bad guys or good guys). It is now left to whoever uses his word and how they use it.

The fourth mystery is the hidden message of the movie.

The movie, shows exactly what is going on in the political aspect of Nigeria. In an adage that states “people exploit innocent children who aren’t theirs for their evil schemes”. It also shows the attitude of the West towards the Africans

Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) Ending Explained.

The death of Agemo brough out the ability of Gbotija to confront Ogundiji. Moreover, he has nothing to loose again. He lifted the spirit of the warriors and challenged Ogundiji. His action led to the revelation of how his kingdom was attacked by his master and how Erinfunto was betrayed by his husband.

This led to tough fight and Gbotija nearly lost his life in the hands of Ogundjiji, because he overpowered his ability to call on trees. However, Erinfunto who we believe knows what can nullify the power of Ogundiji stepped up for him. (please don’t betray that gender LOL). He was stabbed severally afterwards and fell to the ground. Well, we believe he is dead after that, cause he should be.

Will there be part two of Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) ?

As of now, there is no official statement from Netflix, to whether there is going to be a sequel to the movie. However, we at funembassy believe there is going to be a second part to Jagun Jagun. We have highlighted a few reasons below.

• Ogundiji has a son who is somewhere, he cannot be without power and I believe he will want to avenge his father
• The community of the bad kings is still existing, which implies that, something must still be done about them.
• The appearance of Ibrahim Chattah at the end of the movie speaks a million about the intention of the writers.

The movie rating by many twitter users ranges from 8/10-10/10. However, this is not same as recorded by IMDB from its over 100 raters. We at funembassy rates the movie 9.5/10.
